*TEACH IN VILLAGE PRIMARY SCHOOL:
Teaching in India can be a very rewarding experience. Teach English, Maths and Arts and Crafts to primary school children, either assisting the teacher or leading and delivering your own lessons.
You’ll be teaching Monday to Friday in the mornings for 2 hours. In the afternoon you can provide activities in a boys home, for the boys aged 6 to 12, and help supplement their education and social skills.
Built into your time table are periods to prepare for your lessons and activities and there is a cupboard full of educational materials for you to use. You will get plenty of help from the Project Manager who will explain what you should be doing, how you can follow on from the last volunteer and how to keep a diary of your teaching.
*PROVIDING AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND FUN IN THE BOYS’ HOME:
Monday to Friday, you prepare something to do with the young boys after they have come in from school. For 45 minutes you could do an art project or teach them to play a game. By then the boys will be tired and ready for some fun. For the last 45 minutes, you could organise something physical like skipping, playing a ball game or even dancing – which they love!
